Reminder Creation

  • How do I create a new reminder?

    On iOS, tap the button at the bottom of the main screen. On Mac, click the button within the top toolbar. You can also create reminders on iOS using the app icon shortcut or the share extension.

  • How do I edit a reminder?

    You can edit reminders from the schedule view. Tap or click the icon on the main screen. On Mac, double click the desired reminder to edit. On iOS, tap the desired reminder to edit.

  • How do I delete a reminder?

    Open the schedule view from the icon on the main screen. Locate the reminder to delete and tap the icon. Select the Delete option. On Mac, right-click the reminder and select the delete option.

  • How do I create a reminder with an alert before the due date?

    On the add screen, tap or click the . Adjust the notification time to a preset or choose a custom alert time.

    Reminders with early alerts show up before the due date.

  • How do I create a reminder without a notification?

    On the add screen, tap or click the button. Toggle off notifications.

  • How do I complete a reminder?

    To complete a task on iOS, tap the Complete button or use the schedule view. Tap the icon on the main screen. Locate the reminder to complete and swipe to the left. You can also complete tasks from the options menu. Tap the Complete option.

    To complete a task on Mac, click the button. You can also complete reminders from the schedule view. Click the icon on the main screen. Locate the reminder to complete. Right-click and select Complete.

  • How do I snooze a reminder?

    To snooze a task on iOS, tap the Snooze button or use the schedule view. Find the task you want to snooze and swipe to the right. Only due items can be snoozed.

    To bypass your default snooze setting, long press the snooze button. Select between preset options or choose a specific date.

    To snooze a task on Mac, click the button. To bypass your default snooze setting, right click the snooze button. Select between preset options or choose a specific date.

  • How do I sort or prioritize due reminders?

    Open the schedule view from the icon on the main screen. On iOS, tap the button at the top right. Sort reminders in the “Due now” section using the drag handles. You can also long press items under “Due now” and begin dragging to change the sort.

    On Mac, click and drag to re-order items. Tasks appear from top to bottom on the main screen.

iCloud Syncing

  • How do I enable or disable iCloud syncing?

    Tap or click the icon on the main screen. On iOS, tap the iCloud toggle to enable or disable iCloud. On Mac, open the Doo Preferences window and toggle the Sync with iCloud option.

    Doo requires an active iCloud account with iCloud Drive enabled. Read the official Apple instructions for step-by-step help enabling iCloud on your iOS device or Mac.

  • How can I force iCloud to sync?

    You can request an iCloud sync by force-quitting the app on iOS or by quitting and re-opening the app on Mac.

  • What phrases can I use to create and edit reminders using Siri?

    Doo supports the following phrases when using Siri:

    • Create a reminder using the phrase Add a task using Doo called [task name] [optional date and time]"
    • Prompt Siri to create a reminder using the phrase Add a task using Doo
    • Prompt Siri to create a reminder in an existing list using the phrase Add a task called [task name] to [list] using Doo
    • Have Siri complete a reminder using the phrase Mark the task called [task name] as completed using Doo
  • How do I enable the Doo extension?

    On iOS:

    • Open Safari and make sure you’re on a webpage.
    • Tap the icon.
    • Beneath Airdrop in the first row of icons, swipe to the end of the list and tap the icon.
    • Scroll through the list of Activities until you find “Add to Doo”. Make sure the toggle is enabled. You can drag the Doo extension up in the list for easier access.
    • Tap the Done button.

    On Mac:

    • Open “System Preferences” from the Apple Menu.
    • Open the “Extensions” preference item in the third row of icons.
    • Make sure the “All” item on the left column is selected.
    • Find Doo in the list on the right.
    • Make sure Share Menu is checked.

    You can now add reminders using webpages, web URLs, selected text, and more wherever you see the icon.

  • Why did the extension tell me no text or URL could be found?

    The Doo extension can use text and web URLs. Some apps convert things like addresses into text that Doo can read. If an app attempts to send an object to Doo that it can’t read, you’ll see this message.

  • What kinds of widgets does Doo support?

    Doo supports small, medium, and large widgets on iOS and Mac. The widgets display up to three due reminders or your next upcoming task. Widgets support the Home Screen on iOS.

    Doo also supports more glanceable widgets on the iOS Lock Screen and the Apple Watch clock face. Use these widgets to display your most recently due item or your next task time.

    To run Doo from the menu bar, open up Doo Preferences and toggle Show in the menu bar. The active window will close and the Doo icon will appear in the menu bar. Click the menu bar icon to show or hide Doo.
